Industry regulated safety standards
 
The Crane Industry Council of Australia (CICA) initiated the voluntary crane assessment program, CraneSafe, throughout Australia.  Developed by the national industry body in consultation with the crane industry as a whole, CraneSafe aims to augment existing safety standards with annual assessments of mobile, tower, overhead, and vehicle loading cranes.  Additionally, the program also provides assessments for other mobile plant like piling rigs, concrete pumps, pole borers, reach stackers, and telehandlers.
