GetWrite uses iPads with the Apple Pencil to record handwriting movements for scientific and educational purposes
GetWrite uses iPads with the Apple Pencil to record handwriting movements for scientific and educational purposes. All available pen data (x- and y-coordinates, pressure, azimuth and altitude) is obtained at the maximum sampling rate, including pen-in-air movements (only available on iPad Pro Gen 6 [2022] and later models). The frequency at which data is recorded depends on the iPad and Apple Pencil model. Pen-on-paper data is always recorded at 240 Hz, while pen-in-air movements on iPad Pro are recorded at 60 Hz. GetWrite is scriptable, i.e. it runs experiments built on https://getwrite.de. The resulting data file is saved locally and can be uploaded to https://g-no.shinyapps.io/GetWrite/ for further analysis.
