Cuyonon-English Dictionary

The Cuyonon Language and Culture Project, Inc. presents the most comprehensive Cuyonon-English dictionary. It was compiled by Ester Timbancaya Elphick, Virginia Howard Sohn, and Filiusa Timbancaya - and numerous researchers, consultants, donors, and advisors who have worked on the project for more than thirty years.

In 1994, a team of Cuyonons began interviewing and recording 551 speakers of Cuyonon in their homes and workplaces. A team of Cuyonon speakers and experts transcribed and analyzed the recordings and created this dictionary of almost 40,000 entries. We expect revisions and improvements in the future.
