MRI scans provide a non-invasive way to assess iron concentration in the liver through T2* measurements, offering an alternative to invasive liver biopsies. T2* refers to a measurement of how quickly the transverse magnetization decays due to magnetic field inhomogeneities and magnetic susceptibility differences within tissues. The presence of iron in liver tissue alters T2* values, giving clinicians valuable information about iron overload or deficiency. Our app converts MRI T2* data into liver iron concentration using the Wood, Garbowski, Henninger, and Hankins models - all recognized standards in clinical research. Designed specifically for clinicians involved in research and teaching, this app provides a simple way to compare results across different models, helping with accurate interpretation of liver iron levels for both clinical assessment and educational purposes.
