CooperFit™ is a scientifically proven cardiovascular fitness test developed by Cooper Clinic and backed by more than 55 years of preventive medicine research. Cardiovascular fitness is one of the most powerful indicators of overall health, chronic disease risk, quality of life and even lifespan. Participants take the test in one of two formats, depending on their ability—one-mile walk or 12-minute run on a treadmill while wearing a heart rate monitor. The test measures their predicted max VO2—the body’s ability to consume oxygen during exercise—providing insights into how well the heart, lungs and muscles work together. Upon completing the test, the CooperFit app calculates the participants’ fitness category (Very Poor to Superior) and percentile ranking—based on their age and gender. The CooperFit app is to be used by trained CooperFit technicians.
