The sun rises over Collserola. A red L1 train pulls into Catalunya. Tourists flood Passeig de Gràcia on their way to the Sagrada Família. A cruise ship blows its horn at the port. Your first day running Barcelona's public transport has begun. BCN TRANSIT is a cosy transport strategy game set in a hand-painted, storybook version of Barcelona. You are the new director of the city's public transport — metro, bus, tram and FGC. Balance passenger happiness, street traffic, station wear and the municipal budget while the real Barcelona comes to life around you, from dawn to midnight. EXPLORE A HAND-PAINTED BARCELONA Every pixel is drawn in code — no sprite sheets, no asset packs. Watch Collserola rise in the north with the Tibidabo church on top, the Sagrada Família sketched above the Eixample, the Camp Nou oval in Les Corts, sailboats drifting across the Mediterranean, cruise ships calling at the port, a lighthouse blinking on the breakwater and airplanes gliding toward El Prat. A full day/night cycle bathes the whole city in dawn, noon, dusk and midnight tones. RUN FOUR TRANSPORT MODES Metro lines L1, L2, L3, L4, L5, L9 and L10 — in their real TMB colours. Bus routes across the grid. Trams through Les Corts and Diagonal. FGC under Sarrià-Sant Gervasi. Each mode has its own speed, capacity, cost per kilometre and operating expenses. SET THE FARES Billete sencillo, T-casual (10 trips), T-usual (30-day pass), T-jove (free for under-25s) and the Hola Barcelona tourist day pass. Fares affect demand — raise them and citizens switch to cars, traffic climbs, revenue dips; lower them and ridership booms but the budget gets tight. REPAIR WHAT BREAKS Stations wear out. Green rings turn yellow, then orange, then red. Preventive maintenance costs 20K€ and closes a station for two days. Emergency repairs after a breakdown cost 50K€ and ten days of chaos. Upgrade stations with escalators, air conditioning, accessibility improvements and expanded platforms. LIVE THE CITY'S RHYTHM Morning rush at 7–9 AM. Evening rush at 5–8 PM. Camp Nou matches bringing 80,000 extra fans. La Mercè flooding Ciutat Vella. Mobile World Congress in the Eixample. Primavera Sound in Sant Martí. Sant Jordi in the spring. Weather swings between sun, cloud, rain, heatwave and storm — each shifts demand between metro and bus. ELEVEN REAL DISTRICTS Ciutat Vella, Eixample, Sants-Montjuïc, Les Corts, Sarrià-Sant Gervasi, Gràcia, Horta-Guinardó, Sant Andreu, Sant Martí, L'Hospitalet and Barceloneta — each with its own population, character and transport needs.
