What's filling your Mac, and what's safe to delete?

Aster Disk shows what's actually taking up space, explains what each folder is in plain English, and suggests cleanups you approve one at a time. Nothing is removed without you. Everything goes to the Trash, so it stays recoverable.

No telemetry. No accounts. No fake "your Mac is at risk" alarms. Everything runs on your machine, and nothing is ever sent anywhere. Pay once, no subscription.

What you can do

• Visualize — Mondrian treemap, sunburst, bubble pack, or quiet horizontal bars. Drill into any folder with a click; the chart updates with a smooth bloom animation.
• Find big stuff — old downloads, forgotten Xcode build caches, stale iOS simulator runtimes, decade-old screenshots cluttering your Desktop, and ten more rule-based suggestions tuned for real Mac users.
• Uninstall apps cleanly — right-click any .app bundle to see every related cache, container, preference, log, and launch agent. Tick what to remove, click once. Apps that need administrator access? Aster Disk offers a one-click elevated retry.
• Browse Installed Apps — sortable list of every .app on your Mac, with one-click uninstall. Hide system apps you can't remove anyway.
• Understand any folder — right-click and pick "What is this?" for a plain-English explanation. The curated knowledge base recognises ~120 common system, developer, and third-party paths. On Macs with Apple Intelligence enabled, the unrecognised long-tail gets a one-paragraph on-device explanation.
• See what changed — re-scanning a folder you've scanned before shows the diff: top growers, total delta, per-path deltas.
• Earn small wins — local-only achievements as you reclaim space. No leaderboard, no social.

Privacy posture

Aster Disk runs entirely on your Mac. There is no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no cloud sync, no user accounts, no email signup. Your scan results, your trophy progress, your settings — all on your computer, never sent anywhere.
