Photo Date Adjustator

Photo Date Adjustator is a third-party utility for Apple macOS that takes photo or video files as input (like JPEG, PNG, GIF, RAW or MOV format files) and extracts the photos' or videos' creation timestamp from the metadata stored within those files.  The metadata considered for each file is the corresponding EXIF, TIFF or other related metadata that a digital camera or smartphone stores with each photo or video taken. It then allows you to flexibly adjust the respective timestamp information and change it in each photo's metadata, as well as setting the file system 'creation' – and optionally 'last modification' timestamp – of the respective photo file to match this new media creation timestamp.

Typical use-cases for Photo Date Adjustator is re-adjusting photos' creation timestamps if the camera date was off or no date and time information is at all stored in a photo. You may also want the corresponding photo file's filesystem timestamps to match the point in time when a photo has been originally taken. When copying files between different file systems or up- and downloading them to and from Cloud storage, those filesystem timestamps may be overwritten. This utility helps you to restore the original timestamps from the metadata.

In cases where the Content Created information is not present in a photo's metadata, either the File Created or File Modified dates can be used as fallback options to restore a Content Created timestamp in the metadata. Alternatively, the filename itself can be parsed for timestamp information (e.g. IMG_12345_2025-12-27_15.37.46+0700_iPhone15.jpg can serve as an alternative source for missing timestamp information).

The in-app purchase option does not add any additional capabilities to the already fully functional free-of-charge version, and is solely intended for voluntary donations to support the development and maintenance efforts through the app's author.
