Dragify: Drag Queen Face Swap

We built Dragify for two reasons. First, we wanted to see what we would look like transformed into drag queens. We wanted the full fantasy: the hair, the makeup, the clothes, the attitude, and that uncanny moment when the result still looks like you, only somehow louder.

We were also curious about what AI could do with fashion. Could it invent garments that felt genuinely new? Could it pull from couture, clubwear, pageantry, costume, and fantasy without collapsing everything into the same sparkly dress? We started experimenting, and soon found ourselves somewhere between a drag dressing room and a fashion studio with no production budget, no storage limits, and very little respect for the laws of physics.

The results came quickly. Entire catalogues could be built in a flash. A single idea might turn into dozens of silhouettes, wigs, makeup treatments, accessories, and characters. We made glamorous queens, campy queens, glamorous campy queens, disco creatures, pageant legends, alien socialites, nightclub monsters, and women who appeared to own several yachts for reasons nobody could quite explain.

Before long, we had created more than 15,000 looks.

Some were beautiful. Some were ridiculous. The best were both. Drag has always understood that good taste and bad taste are not necessarily opposites. A look can be elegant and excessive, polished and absurd, gorgeous and knowingly artificial. That tension became one of our favorite parts of the project.

The sheer volume created its own problem. Most of the images did not deserve to be in the app. Some felt repetitive. Others were technically impressive but had no personality. A few seemed to have wandered in from a very different and considerably less entertaining application.

So we started editing.

We compared thousands of images, discarded entire directions, refined promising ideas, and kept the looks that made us laugh, gasp, or immediately want to show someone else. What began as an exercise in generation gradually became an exercise in taste. AI could produce an endless number of possibilities, but it still took people to decide which ones had wit, character, glamour, and a reason to exist.

That process eventually produced the curated collections you'll find in Dragify. Some draw from classic drag glamour and pageantry. Others lean into queer camp, editorial fashion, club culture, fantasy, or pure visual spectacle. Every collection has its own personality, and every surviving look earned its place.

Drag is about more than clothes. It uses transformation to play with identity, gender, beauty, performance, and self-invention. It can reveal a hidden part of someone or create a character who never existed before. Sometimes it makes a point. Sometimes it simply makes an entrance.

Dragify lives in that spirit. It is part dress-up game, part fashion experiment, and part celebration of queer imagination. We built it because we wanted to see ourselves in drag and because the creative possibilities were too much fun to leave unexplored.
