Dings is a small, calm reading feed shared with the people you choose. When someone in your circle finds something worth reading, they ding it. You see it in your feed. That's the whole product. Dings for Safari adds a button to your Safari toolbar so you can save any page you're reading with one click. Add a short note if you want, hit Ding It, and it's in your circle's feed. HOW IT WORKS 1. Install this app. It's a small companion that hosts the Safari extension — that's Apple's setup for Safari extensions on Mac. 2. Open Safari → Settings → Extensions and enable "Dings". 3. Sign in to your Dings account at dings.surf in Safari. The extension reuses that session so you don't sign in twice. 4. On any page, click the Dings icon in the toolbar → optionally type a note → hit Ding It. Done. WHY DINGS The web is overflowing with good writing, but most of it never reaches the right reader. Algorithms reward outrage. Search rewards SEO. The best signal you have is the small group of people whose taste you actually trust. Dings is built around that group. You add a handful of friends — not followers. You share what you're reading. You see what they're reading. No algorithm picks what shows up, no ads, no comments, no engagement games. Just links your circle has shared, in the order they shared them. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT • No tracking. No analytics SDKs. No ads, ever. • The extension only activates when you click its toolbar button. It does not read your browsing or run on pages you don't explicitly choose. • The only data sent to dings.surf is the URL and optional note of pages you deliberately ding. • No data is sold or shared with third parties. • You can export everything you've shared, or delete your account and all your data, at any time. REQUIREMENTS • macOS 13 or later with Safari 16 or later (Safari 17+ recommended). • A Dings account. Create one at dings.surf. Dings for Safari is free, with no in-app purchases.
