Potli (पोटली) is your pocket knowledge bookkeeper — a private, self-hosted place to collect everything worth remembering, and then actually make sense of it
Potli (पोटली) is your pocket knowledge bookkeeper — a private, self-hosted place to collect everything worth remembering, and then actually make sense of it.
WHAT POTLI DOES
• Save anything, anywhere. Share a link, a PDF, or an image from any app on your iPhone with one tap, and it lands in your Potli. Works from Safari, Mail, Files, Messages, or any app that supports the Share sheet.
• Group into Subjects. Cluster related saves into a Subject — "India-Pakistan Water Treaty", "GST Reforms", "Books to read" — and Potli keeps them together.
• Manthan pipeline. When you open a Subject, Chitragupta (your AI bookkeeper) runs a four-stage manthan on it: वाद (debate), पॉइंटर्स (key pointers), खंडन (attack), and सार (a synthesised summary) — grounded only in the sources you've saved, with citations.
• Ask Potli. Ask a question in plain English and get an answer that cites the specific bookmarks it came from. No hallucination from the open web — just your own library.
• Auto-file. When you save a new link, Chitragupta looks at your existing Subjects and files it into the right one at high confidence, or nudges you to review lower-confidence guesses.
• Daily Digest. Wake up to a short brief of what's new across your Subjects, signed चित्रगुप्त.
• Full-text search across every bookmark title, extracted article body, tag and note — powered by MeiliSearch on the server.
• Highlights, tags, and lists — organise the way that fits your head.
MADE IN INDIA, FOR THE WAY WE READ
Spatial-glass UI with a saffron / peacock palette, Devanagari headings on the Manthan stages, and a Chitragupta ("चित्रगुप्त") persona for the AI bookkeeper because it just fits. Works with Hindi, English, or a switch mid-sentence.
PRIVATE AND SELF-HOSTED
This is not a big-tech read-later. Your account, your bookmarks, and your assets live on a private server in Mumbai. There are no ads. There is no third-party analytics SDK. The only outside call happens when you invoke an AI feature, and only the relevant text is sent to Google's Gemini API to produce the answer. Every saved page can be exported as JSON at any time. Delete your account and everything goes with it.
GREAT ON THE PHONE, GREAT ON THE DESKTOP
The iOS app talks to the same Potli server your web browser does. Save a PDF from your iPhone in the morning, cluster it into a Subject on your laptop in the afternoon, ask a question about it that night — same bookmarks, same Subjects, same Chitragupta.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
• A Potli account. Create one at monitor.teamyogi.in/potli, then sign in inside the app.
• That's it. No credit card, no subscription.
