Bad Update
I’ve been using the Gmail app for as long as I’ve had an iPhone (many years), but an update went through today that makes unread emails SO much harder to see in your inbox. The juxtaposition between read and unread is so slight now, that I might just switch to the Apple Mail app (that I’ve never used). This lack of contrast is why Microsoft/Outlook are terrible to use (I have to use those for work). Why wouldn’t I want to see what’s unread at a quick glance? Please undo the change…

October update
Whoever's ideas it was to do the most recent update I hope you step in a Lego and stub your toe! It's horrible! After using this app for well over 7 years I'm looking for a new one. Absolutely terrible. Too hard to see what is unread vs read.
