A tribute to family, community and the unifying power of food. Artist Deepa Mann-Kler has collected dozens of treasured family recipes and stories from communities across Bradford District – from mothers and fathers, grandparents and great-grandparents, daughters and sons. Passed down from generation to generation, these treasured recipes show how cooking brings and binds together our families and communities – and how it allows us to take a little piece of home with us wherever we go. Experience some of these food stories brought to life through Augmented reality (AR) with this companion app for the ‘Meet Our Mothers’ cookbook. A copy of the publication is required to be able to access the AR content. Commissioned by Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture, based on an original idea by Deepa Mann-Kler, Akeelah Bertram & Shanaz Gulzar. Supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
