GymBets combines self-accountability with a group environment to provide a platform that promotes discipline, our app incentivizes discipline through virtual stakes by matching users in a cohort of 8 total people, all of which stake some sort of assets into the pool. Through a tendermint style PBFT consensus algorithm, stakers have to submit proofs every day that they are keeping up with their gym goals whether than be submitting a picture of them at the gym or really any sort of proof that gets 2/3s of validators to approve the proof. The first two people in the cohort to slip up and either fail their discipline goals or submit a non-intuitive proof (likely meaning they skipped the gym and lied) get their stake slashed and distributed evenly amongst the rest of the cohort. The thesis of GymBets is that in a perfect scenario where an individual is 100 percent disciplined - there is no way for them to lose, rather only letting them win on our app. Furthermore, when coupled with a stake our app actually incentivizes users to routinely go to the gym and make it a habit for them. Our app creates a win-win situation with going to the gym, letting users get more into fitness while also making fake money.
