THE STORY BEHIND URA

I'm Maison Bear, the founder of Ura.

I started vaping at 15. After quitting, I developed intense anxiety and head pressure that I believed was permanent brain damage from Muay Thai. I later discovered much of what I was experiencing was anxiety and nicotine withdrawal.

After a single therapy session, I was told i had severe anxiety I was offered anti-anxiety medication. While I know medication helps many people, it didn't feel like the right starting point for me as I've seen the long term effect of pharmaceutical medication. I still didn't understand why I felt the way I did, and I wanted answers before anything else.

During my recovery, I spent months using AI to work through cravings, overthinking and panic. It helped me understand what was happening, feel less alone and keep moving forward one day at a time.

Growing up around addiction also showed me how deeply it can affect families. Those experiences inspired me to build the app I wish I'd had during the hardest period of my life.

Ura exists because nobody should have to face panic attacks, addiction or overwhelming anxiety alone.
