AT-A-GLANCE STATUS DASHBOARD Four status lights in the toolbar tell you exactly where things stand the moment you open the app: • Expired — flags any contract that has passed its expiration date • No Contracts — identifies clients with no agreements on file • Need Periodic Renewal — alerts you when renewable contracts are approaching expiration within your configured window • Old Perpetual — surfaces perpetual contracts that haven't been reviewed in years All lights are green? You're in good shape. Click any alert light to see the full list and jump directly to the affected client. COMPLETE CONTRACT TRACKING For each client (recipient), track as many contracts as needed. Each contract records the type, signing date, term length (months or years), and renewal status. Fixed-term contracts display a live countdown and are automatically flagged as Active, Expiring Soon, or Expired. Perpetual contracts are tracked separately, so they never clutter your expiration lists. PERPETUAL CONTRACT MANAGEMENT Perpetual contracts never expire — but relationships change. The Old Perpetual feature lets you set an age threshold (e.g., 3 years). Any perpetual contract whose baseline date exceeds that threshold is flagged for a second look. Use Mark as Reviewed to reset the clock after confirming a relationship is still active. A review date is stamped on the contract and included in exports, giving you a built-in audit trail. CONTRACT REQUIREMENTS Assign contract requirements to any client for quick reference — useful for tracking applicable clauses, provisions, or compliance obligations. Build your global requirements library under Manage, then assign relevant entries per client. Requirements are numbered and text-selectable so you can copy individual entries with ease. MENU BAR ALWAYS WATCHING Contracts Manager lives in your menu bar so you never have to keep the window open. The menu bar icon blinks whenever an alert condition is active — expired contracts, missing agreements, renewal windows, or aging perpetuals — and returns to steady when everything is clear. SMART FILTERS & SEARCH Quickly narrow your client list by status: Expired, No Contracts, Perpetual, Need Periodic Renewal, Old Perpetual, Have Contract Requirements, or by specific contract type. The search bar works alongside any active filter, so you can find exactly who you're looking for in seconds. NOTIFICATIONS For contracts marked Renews on Expiration, Contracts Manager schedules a macOS notification 45 days before the expiration date — so your renewal window never sneaks up on you. PORTABLE DATABASE Your data is saved automatically as you work. When you need a backup or want to share data with a colleague, use Save Database to export everything to a clean JSON file — recipients, contracts, contract types, requirements, review dates, and assignments all included. Open it on any Mac running Contracts Manager to pick up exactly where you left off. CUSTOMIZABLE Replace the sidebar logo with your company's branding in one click.
