  Great music app, very disappointing support

  I genuinely like BandLab and have found it extremely useful for creating music. The workflow is approachable, there are a lot of helpful tools, and as an app alone I would absolutely recommend it. Especially for building up into other more professional DAW’s. Unfortunately, my experience with customer support was very different. I encountered a payment/account issue that prevented me from continuing to use the service normally. I contacted support repeatedly and worked through the troubleshooting they provided, but they were ultimately unable to resolve the problem. In order to continue working, I eventually had to create an entirely new BandLab account and purchase the membership again. This was extremely costly and I was met with, “unfortunately, we are unable to offer a credit for your inconvenience.” Which could have simply been more sampled or tools to work with to inspire my work even more. That’s what supporting the creative side of the music community is all about. With music apps like these it often happens but I have never had this issue with Ableton. They keep me coming back for more. This was especially disappointing after going through all of this in my own — including the additional expense and considerable amount of time involved — BandLab simply declined to provide any credit for the inconvenience or financial loss. The support staff were polite, and I appreciate that, but politeness is not the same as solving the problem. In my case, support did not appear to have the tools or knowledge necessary to correct the issue, and I ultimately had to find my own workaround at additional cost after speaking with several people. Also initially being met with AI generic responses until it felt like I was talking to a real person. So my experience is genuinely divided: I would recommend BandLab as a music-making app for the primary workflow, but I cannot recommend the customer support based on what I experienced. It is unfortunate because the product itself deserves better support behind it.

  Unusable

  I've been using Bandlab for a couple years now but it has dramatically fallen from grace by prioritizing greed and monetization over creativity and artistic accessibility The app is literally unusable with the most recent update as when you open it you immediately get hit with an AD that WILL NOT load and there's no way to close it so you can forget using Bandlab on Mobile Also the sample limitation based on a tiered subscription service is a slap in the face to long term users and customers They've had a subscription service for years but the things they put behind a paywall were fair and made sense Now they're making the app less and less accessible and more annoying to use It's their business and I can't say anything however I will say that there is almost NO reason to use this compared to something like FL studios unless you're a beginner and don't feel like sitting through producing tutorials online for FL studios.
