FieldFriend helps growers and field teams see locust activity fast and understand their risk. Explore an interactive map powered by public feeds and community sightings, check out report details, and post sightings that appear after review. What you can do: Live Map & Pins: Browse recent observations; tap pins for date, behavior, maturity, and distance. Reports List: Scan recent activity in a clean list. Tap any card for a detail view with source info and Open in Maps. Personal Risk Score: See a location-aware risk on the Home screen. Tap βWhy this risk?β for a clear breakdown (distance, swarm type, seasonality, etc.). Post a Sighting: Submit a community sighting using structured fields; entries are reviewed before publishing and can be reported in-app. Date Filters: Quickly focus on activity from the last 30/60/90 days. Farmer-friendly UI: Large tap targets, clear labels, and streamlined screens for field use. Why it matters: Early awareness protects crops. FieldFriend turns scattered reports into a clear picture you can act on, helping you decide when to scout, protect, or move resources. Data & transparency: FieldFriend displays public locust observation feeds (e.g., FAO RAMSES via ArcGIS FeatureServer) alongside user-submitted Community Sightings. We are not affiliated with FAO. Data availability varies by region and season. UGC & safety: Community submissions use structured fields (no free-text) and are pre-moderated. Sightings can be reported in-app, and abusive uploaders can be restricted. Privacy & permissions Location permission is optional and used only to show observations and risk near you. Whatβs next: New features and UI coming soon!
