SoundRoute is a tiny menu bar utility that routes audio from any input device to any output device on your Mac. Pick a microphone, USB interface, or virtual input. Pick a pair of headphones, speakers, or AirPods. Press Start. Your audio flows in real time.

SoundRoute is free to download. The free tier provides up to 30 minutes of audio routing per day, long enough to verify the app works with your hardware (microphones, USB interfaces, turntables, etc.) and comfortably long enough for a full LP side. The daily counter resets at local midnight.

A one-time $4.99 in-app purchase, Unlimited Routing, removes the daily limit. Buy once and restore on any of your Macs.

DESIGN
It lives in your menu bar: no Dock clutter, no window juggling. Click the waveform icon, choose your devices, and go.

Remembers your last selection across launches. Hot-plug detection: connect AirPods or an interface and it appears immediately. Optional launch at login. Optional Dock icon. Right-click the menu bar icon for About, Privacy, Support, Restore Purchases, and Quit.

Native SwiftUI + AppKit, no third-party dependencies.

PRIVACY
SoundRoute does not record, store, or transmit audio. It does not collect analytics. The app does not connect to the internet on its own (Apple's StoreKit handles the optional in-app purchase). Microphone permission is required because macOS treats reading from any audio input device as microphone access, the audio is processed only in memory, only while you have routing active.
