Silo Tidy

Silo Tidy is a file classifier, workspace auditor, and organizer whose file processing stays on your Mac. Point it at a folder — Downloads, Desktop, a dump — then choose local classification or a read-only Workspace Audit before reviewing any proposed file changes.

KEY POINTS
* On-device file processing — no cloud processing, no account, no data collected.
* Workspace Audit — inspect bounded file-type and folder composition, largest files, empty folders, metadata-pattern review candidates, and local risk signals without opening file contents or changing originals.
* Opt-in audit review — filename and folder-name patterns are indicators, not proof that a file is disposable. Candidates are never pre-approved; only selected candidates enter the editable review and exact destination preview.
* Editable classification review — recategorize one file or a selection, and resolve every low-confidence result before a write.
* Exact preview — a commit is rejected if a source, decision, or destination changed after review.
* Conflict-safe undo — unchanged destinations can be restored later; originals and changed files are never overwritten.
* Filename rules work without models. Current Gemma 4 and Compact Bonsai 4B are optional, consent-gated local choices for stronger content-aware classification. Existing installs remain on Gemma unless changed in Settings.
* Duplicate review keeps one chosen original and moves only the byte-identical copies you select.
* Scan Inbox is an optional saved profile for scanned PDFs and images: on-device OCR proposes a filename and document date, and nothing is renamed until you resolve every low-confidence field and collision.

WHAT IT IS NOT
* Workspace Audit is not a whole-disk cleaner, disk-space recovery guarantee, antivirus scanner, or malware diagnosis. Its patterns and risk signals are local metadata clues, not verdicts.
* Silo Tidy does not sync to the cloud or back up your files. Move relocates a verified copy into the target you chose; Copy preserves the source; Preview changes nothing; Smart Folder writes only a .savedSearch receipt. Scan Inbox renames only after you approve the exact destination. Undo never deletes or overwrites a changed original.
