- Maximize the whole fish in the phone's screen
- Orient your phone in the same direction as fish
- Keep your hands away from the middle of the fish, where the girth measurement is taken
- If lipping the fish, keep your hand off to the side of the fish's head, not above or on top of it, where the fish's length is calculated
- Have the fish straight and flat - not curved 
- Have only one fish per picture
- Take picture of the side of the fish, not head-on or the top/bottom
