Tired of juggling ten terminal windows? Frustrated when you undock your laptop and your log viewers disappear? Logarithmic is the ultimate log tailing application built for modern developers, DevOps, and system administrators. It’s more than just tail -f. It’s a complete log management system with session saving, AI integration, and the magic "F3" hotkey to instantly recover all your windows. Key Features • AI-Powered Debugging: The first log viewer with a built-in Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. Connect Claude Desktop to search, query, and analyze your logs using natural language. • Instant Window Recovery (F3): Press F3 to instantly move all scattered log windows to your cursor. A lifesaver for multi-monitor and laptop users who dock/undock. • Intelligent Grouping: Organize related logs into a single window with switchable "Tabbed" or "Combined" (interleaved) views. • Save Your Workspace: Save and restore your entire session—all log files, groups, and window positions—with a single click. • Automatic Syntax Highlighting: Instantly spot errors (red), warnings (orange), and debug (gray) messages in the stream. • Wildcard Support: Track patterns like app-*.log and let the app automatically find and switch to the newest file. Never Lose a Window Again Logarithmic is built from the ground up for multi-monitor setups. Use 'F3' for Window Recovery! Move your mouse to your main screen and press F3. All app windows (the main panel, viewers, and groups) instantly jump to your cursor, ready to be rearranged. No more hunting for off-screen windows. Session Management: Save your entire layout as a "Session." When you start a new project, just load its session, and all your logs, groups, and window positions are restored exactly where you left them. Smart Snapping: Windows automatically snap to each other for a perfectly clean layout. Stop searching, start analyzing. Built-in MCP Server: Enable the Model Context Protocol (MCP) server to let AI agents like Claude Desktop connect directly to your app. Ask Your Logs Questions: Ask Claude to "List all logs," "Search for 'fatal error' in the application logs," or "Analyze the warnings from the past 10 minutes." Thread-Safe: The AI server runs in a separate thread, so your UI always stays fast and responsive. Total Tailing Control Live Mode: Automatically scroll to the bottom of the log. A visual indicator lets you know you're live. Pause/Resume: Freeze the stream to investigate an issue while the app continues to tail the file in the background. "Go Live" Button: Scrolled up to read history? A "Go Live" button appears so you can instantly jump back to the latest entries. Robust File Management: Gracefully handles log rotation, file creation, deletion, and missing files. A View You Can Customize Beautiful Fonts: Includes modern, highly-readable fonts (Michroma, Oxanium, Red Hat Mono) out of the box. Adjustable Font Sizes: Independently control the font size for log content, UI elements, and the status bar. Syntax Highlighting: Errors, warnings, and debug lines are automatically colorized for instant identification. Who Is This For? Software Developers: Monitor your application's output during development and debugging. DevOps & SREs: Track multiple microservice logs in a single, organized workspace. System Administrators: Watch system logs, web server logs, and application logs simultaneously. Game Developers: Monitor Unreal, Unity, or custom game engine logs in real-time. AI-Assisted Debugging: Anyone who wants to leverage AI to find and solve problems faster. Download Logarithmic and finally take control of your log streams.
