pxf — The Proxy Factory, video proxies fast and easy
Professional media encoders are powerful, but one wrong setting buried three panels deep and your whole batch is useless. Command line FFmpeg is even more powerful, and even less forgiving. pxf does one thing and does it right. Encodes full or half-sized proxies in H.264, H.265, ProRes 422 Proxy, and Avid DNxHR LB. Creates QuickTime, MPEG-4, and MXF files with or without watermarks.
What pxf Does
pxf converts high resolution video files from professional cameras into lightweight proxy files your NLE can handle. Drag, drop, and edit. We support virtually every professional video format. If VLC can play it, pxf can make a proxy of it.
Free and Useful
The free version isn't crippled. Unlimited encoding to H.264 or H.265, full or half resolution, with LUT support. Output to QuickTime (.mov) or MPEG-4 (.mp4). Free exports include a pxf watermark.
Unlock Pro
One-time purchase. No subscription. $10 unlocks ProRes 422 Proxy and Avid DNxHR LB encoding, along with MXF file export .pxf Pro also includes custom watermarking for your client deliverables.
Who It's For
pxf was built for camera assistants, editors, and DITs who need proxies without the ceremony. If you've ever sent a batch to encode only to come back to something unusable, you know why we made .pxf.
