NoduleRisk is a clinical decision support tool for physicians evaluating
pulmonary nodule malignancy risk
NoduleRisk is a clinical decision support tool for physicians evaluating
pulmonary nodule malignancy risk. It computes probability estimates and
management guidance across five validated models simultaneously.
MODELS INCLUDED
• Mayo Clinic (ACCP) — logistic regression model for incidentally detected
nodules
• Brock (BTS/PanCan) — recommended for screening populations; validated in
the Pan-Canadian Lung Cancer Screening Study
• Herder (BTS) — incorporates FDG-PET/CT uptake when available
• BIMC (Bayesian) — Bayesian likelihood ratio model with adjustable prior
probability; displays individual likelihood ratio contributions
• Fleischner 2017 — guideline-based follow-up recommendations with
automatic risk stratification
FEATURES
• Multi-nodule evaluation (up to 6 nodules per patient)
• Volume doubling time calculation from serial CT measurements
• Risk-stratified management recommendations for each model
• Applicability warnings when inputs are outside model validation ranges
• Clinical context adjustments for screening and biopsy-referred populations
• Fully offline — no data is transmitted or stored
IMPORTANT
NoduleRisk is intended for use by qualified clinicians as a decision support
aid only. Results must be interpreted in the context of the full clinical
picture and do not substitute for institutional guidelines, multidisciplinary
team discussion, or clinical judgment.
