They came at dusk, when the moon hung low and red. By dawn the caravan was ash, and Tarn's kin were gone east along the Ashen Road. Ashen Road is a side-scrolling sword fight across a dying bronze-age frontier. Follow the captives one link of the chain at a time: through raider camps and ruined watchtowers, a drowned river town, a salt market where people are weighed like grain, burning grassland, a forest of bone and a mountain pass, to the oldest ruin under the moon, and home again.
