Audiopath is a private listening companion for Apple Music and Spotify on your Mac. See what's playing, understand how the audio reaches your speakers, keep your own listening history, and scrobble to Last.fm if you choose.
Previously called ScrobbleMate, Audiopath has grown beyond one service. The reliable scrobbler is still here. It is now one part of a wider toolkit for seeing, measuring and remembering your music.
YOUR LISTENING, ON THIS MAC
Audiopath records each qualifying play in a local history whether or not you connect Last.fm.
• Use listening stats and collages without creating an account.
• Keep history forever, or choose a one, two or five-year limit.
• Export a portable backup and merge it back at any time.
• Import your existing Last.fm history so you do not have to start from today.
• Switch between your full Last.fm history and plays recorded on this Mac.
STATS THAT GO DEEPER
Explore recent plays, top artists, albums and tracks, listening activity, and your busiest hours. Local history also unlocks questions Last.fm cannot answer:
• Your top album for each year.
• A day-by-hour map of when you listen.
• New artists discovered over time.
• Artists rediscovered after a long break.
• Current and longest listening streaks.
SEE WHAT YOUR AUDIO IS DOING
Signal Path starts with a plain-English verdict, such as "System mixer in path" or "Resampling 44.1 kHz to 48 kHz". It then shows the evidence. Inspect the output device, transport, formats, source quality, hog mode and buffer size. Copy diagnostics with one click, or switch your Mac's audio output from the menu.
REAL VU METERS
Measure the active player's audio with an optional stereo VU meter. Choose Retro LED, Gradient Bar or Classic VU in the menu bar, with calibrated response and peak hold. The draggable Floating Card adds artwork, track details, signal quality and twin analogue dials. Audiopath measures levels in memory and discards them at once. It never records or saves audio.
LAST.FM, STILL DONE PROPERLY
Connect Last.fm to scrobble Apple Music and Spotify automatically. Audiopath checks each player in two ways, and a live indicator shows what is active. If your connection drops, plays wait on your Mac and submit when you are back online. A Last.fm account is optional. Local history, stats and collages still work without one.
MAKE IT SHAREABLE
Turn your top albums or artists into a polished collage for any time range. Build it from Last.fm or from the history kept on this Mac, then copy, save or share it.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• No advertising, analytics, telemetry or tracking.
• Audiopath keeps your listening history on your Mac unless you export it.
• Last.fm credentials stay in the macOS Keychain.
• Turn on "Use only artwork saved on this Mac" to stop online cover-art lookups.
• Optional audio metering stays off until you enable it.
Audiopath is a native, sandboxed menu bar app for macOS. It supports Apple Silicon and Intel, can launch at login, and uses no Electron or web wrapper.
