WoodID (https://woodid.aitc.vn/) is a cutting-edge deep learning-based application designed to assist users in identifying wood species with high accuracy. Utilizing advanced machine learning algorithms, WoodID currently supports the identification of 260 common wood species that are frequently imported into Vietnam. This powerful tool is an invaluable asset for professionals in forestry, customs, woodworking, and enthusiasts alike. Key Features: 1. Advanced Deep Learning Model: WoodID leverages an advanced deep learning model to analyze and recognize wood species. The model has been meticulously trained on a vast dataset of wood cross-sectional images, ensuring high accuracy and reliability in species identification. With continuous updates and learning, the model improves over time, providing users with increasingly precise results. 2. High Magnification Image Capture: WoodID is designed to capture high-magnification images of wood cross-sections at 50x magnification. This level of detail is crucial for accurate identification, as it allows the model to analyze intricate anatomical features of the wood that are not visible to the naked eye. 3. Compatibility with Dino-lite Microscopes, Joyhonest wifi camera (MaxSee camera, DM Camera ..): The app works seamlessly with macroscopic Dino-lite microscopes, Joyhonest based wifi camera, like MaxSee camera, DM Camera... This compatibility ensures that users can easily integrate WoodID into their existing workflows without the need for additional equipment. 4. Support for External Cameras: In addition to microscope compatibility, WoodID supports the use of external cameras. Users can utilize the rear camera of their mobile devices in conjunction with external lenses, such as the 24x Apexel with 2-3x zooming. This flexibility makes it convenient for users to capture high-quality images in various settings and conditions. 5. Extensive Database of Wood Species: WoodID comes with a comprehensive database containing detailed information on approximately 260 wood species commonly imported into Vietnam. Each entry in the database includes vital information such as: Scientific and common names, Country of origin, Wood density and hardness, Typical uses and applications, Visual characteristics such as color, grain pattern, and texture. This extensive database serves as a valuable resource for users, providing them with the necessary background information to make informed decisions based on the identification results. 6. Detailed Identification Guides: To assist users in the identification process, WoodID includes a series of guides that outline key anatomical features and characteristics used to differentiate wood species. These guides cover aspects such as: Pore arrangement and size, Growth ring patterns, Ray structure and distribution, Parenchyma and fiber characteristics. These guides are designed to educate users on the fundamentals of wood anatomy, enhancing their understanding and enabling them to make more accurate identifications. 7. User-Friendly Interface: The app features a user-friendly interface that makes it easy for users of all skill levels to navigate and utilize its powerful features. The intuitive design ensures that users can quickly capture images, access the database, and obtain identification results with minimal effort. 8. Regular Updates and Support: WoodID is committed to providing ongoing support and updates to its users.
