  Request a Ride and Drivers Bolt (away from you)

  Update 2 weeks after the original review below: So I bolted from Bolt to Uber and Uber worked flawlessly and usually cheaper than Bolt. BOLT Bolt for Uber Original Review: Just tried Bolt in Portugal and completely unreliable. At the airport had 15 drivers be found and not accept. In Sintra same thing and when agreed to pay the “convince a driver to show up” up charge they told me they would find a driver in 2 minutes. 5 minutes later there was nothing so I Bolted to Uber and got a ride immediately. App is fine but the service is AWFUL. In Evora the driver wouldn’t even leave the station until I agreed over text not to post any complaints on the app because he would be kicked off the app (so my ride was being held hostage) Later in Evora i had been assigned drivers but they cancelled 2 minutes into the 5 minutes they said they would be there in Would you believe l, unprompted, the cleaning lady at our next hotel told us to NEVER take Bolt and Uber is much better and cheaper. Bolt’s corporate logo should be “Wanna get somewhere the Bolt over to Uber” I’ve instructed my travel department to remove Bolt as an approved providrt from all company travel as a result. Informed my trade group as well and a few have already followed suit.

  Deceptive Driver

  I had only used Bolt once before which happened to be the prior day. That experience was great. The next day in Lisbon, Portugal I requested an 8 passenger van because of our luggage and there were 4 of us. The 8 passenger van was more than sufficient. The driver arrived, we were at the Lisbon airport, and loaded 4 of our 6 large bags in the back of the van and said that was all of the luggage he could carry. That left 2 medium suitcases and 4 carryon he was refusing to load. He said it was against the law to carry luggage in the passenger compartment. After costing us 9.24 euro more for wait time while we negotiated the ride, he finally decided to do as I recommended, use the empty space in the passenger compartment to place our bags. He was being deceptive. Later after I got home I researched the Law in Lisbon about the luggage and I found that was a lie by the driver. I contacted Customer Support at Bolt and they wouldn’t even let me continue giving them information. They closed the case after their canned answer and that was the end of that. I just requested my account to be closed and deleted the app. I should have used Uber. Beware of deceptive drivers.
