Description

Effortless EC2 Access

Effortless EC2 Access. Zero SSH Hassle. Full SSM Security.

SimpleSSM provides a clean, native macOS experience for securely connecting to your Amazon EC2 instances using AWS Systems Manager (SSM) — no SSH keys, no inbound ports, and no juggling profiles.

Perfect for DevOps and developers who frequently connect to EC2, consultants managing many AWS accounts, and anyone wanting SSM security without AWS Console or CLI friction.

Whether you manage a single AWS account or dozens, SimpleSSM brings all your profiles, regions, and EC2 instances together into one intuitive interface. Search across fleets, open SSM terminals with a click, monitor instance health, and run commands across your entire fleet — all from one window.

— WHY SIMPLESSM? —

Secure by Design
All connections route through AWS Systems Manager, so there are no public IPs required, no open SSH ports, no SSH keys to manage, and all access is IAM-controlled. Your AWS API keys are stored securely in the macOS Keychain, or use AWS Identity Center (SSO) for enterprise-class security.

One-Click Connections
Select an instance from your list and connect. That's it. SimpleSSM handles authentication and session setup so you can skip the CLI entirely.

Every Account. Every Region. One View.
See instances from all of your AWS profiles in a single, organized interface. Filter or sort by profile, instance state, name, or Instance ID. Switch between accounts and regions instantly, or see all accounts at once.

Fleet-Wide Command Execution
Run shell commands on one instance or across many with the built-in Send Command feature. On-device Apple Intelligence validates your command syntax before it ever leaves your Mac — catch typos and mistakes before they hit production.

In-app Metrics & Health at a Glance
View real-time CloudWatch metrics — CPU, memory, network, and disk — alongside instance health checks. Spot problems instantly without ever opening the AWS Console.

Instance Lifecycle Control
Start, stop, and restart instances directly from SimpleSSM. No console tabs, no CLI commands - just click and go.

— KEY FEATURES —

Native macOS terminal with pop-out windows and session uptime tracking. Keep multiple connections open side by side.

Authenticate via Access Keys or SSO (AWS Identity Center).

Favorite your commonly accessed servers — they appear in your menu bar for instant connections.

Quick terminal connections with Spotlight searchable app intent.

Send Command broadcasts shell commands to single instances or your entire fleet, with Apple Intelligence-powered syntax validation (beta) running fully on-device.

CloudWatch metrics and instance health checks built right into the instance view.

Start, stop, and restart EC2 instances without leaving the app.

Automatic instance refreshing keeps your list current without manual reloads.

Search and filter across your entire fleet from one unified view.

— FREE TIER —

SimpleSSM is free to download and use. The free tier includes:
- 1 AWS profile (Access Keys or AWS Identity Center / SSO)
- 1 simultaneous terminal connection
- 1 saved command snippet
- Send Command to 1 instance at a time
- Built-in terminal themes
- Metrics limited to CPU, Network, and Disk I/O

— REQUIREMENTS —

AWS Systems Manager (SSM) Agent must be installed on your EC2 instances, and appropriate IAM permissions are required to connect. Apple Intelligence command validation (beta) requires a compatible Apple silicon Mac running a supported version of macOS.

Some metrics — including memory utilization, swap, and disk space — require the Amazon CloudWatch Agent to be installed and configured on your EC2 instance. CPU, network, and disk I/O metrics are available by default.

SimpleSSM is an independent macOS application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Amazon Web Services, Inc. or its affiliates.
