  Encora is the Mac video encoder that proves itself. Before you commit, it samples your source at the chosen
  preset and tells you exactly what quality to expect — in dB, against the source. After the encode, it draws
  a per-frame PSNR heatmap so you can see precisely where compression worked and where it gave up. No more
  guesswork.

  — PREDICTED QUALITY, BEFORE YOU ENCODE

  A one-second probe at the current preset gives you a predicted PSNR score in real time. Switch presets,
  watch the prediction update, then commit to the right one — without burning ten minutes on a wrong choice.

  — PER-FRAME QUALITY HEATMAP, AFTER

  Every completed encode is followed by frame-by-frame PSNR analysis. The detail view shows average, P10,
  minimum, and maximum scores plus a colored timeline strip mapping each frame's quality. One glance tells you
   whether the encode is consistently transparent or whether a specific scene fell apart.

  Drag the vertical wipe to see source and encoded in the same viewport. The PSNR heatmap renders under the
  timeline scrubber. "Jump to worst" seeks the playhead directly to the lowest-quality frame.

  H.264 and HEVC for universal hardware-accelerated delivery. AV1 (SVT-AV1) for 30% smaller files than HEVC.
  VP9 with WebM for royalty-free streaming. ProRes 422 and ProRes 4444 for Final Cut and DaVinci. DNxHR HQ for
   Avid and broadcast workflows.

  Drop a video into ~/Documents/encora-inbox and Encora queues it instantly, encodes it with the current
  preset, and lands the output in your chosen folder. Stop your screen recorder — the file is encoded before
  you've switched windows.

  Override any preset per job: H.264 profile, entropy mode, bitrate or quality mode, keyframe interval,
  multi-pass, frame reordering, color space, audio bitrate. Eleven built-in look filters: Black & White, Noir,
   Tonal, Sepia, Fade, Chrome, Instant, Film Transfer, Cross-Process, Vibrant.

  H.264, HEVC, and ProRes run on hardware via VideoToolbox. AV1, VP9, and DNxHR use industry-standard software
   encoders bundled with the app — no separate install required. PSNR analysis uses Apple's Accelerate
  framework for SIMD-fast luma comparison.
