From the App Store SourceBattery Beggar is a menu bar app that gives your MacBook's battery a voice. It monitors your charge and reacts with personality-driven commentary at key thresholds: 50%, 25%, 15%, 10%, and 5%. Plug in the charger and it notices. Unplug at a bad time and it has thoughts. Five personality packs are included: - Anxious. Spiraling, catastrophizing, asking if you have a plan. - Default Dramatic. Theatrical, dry, and opinionated. - Matter of Fact. Just the numbers, no nonsense. - Passive Aggressive. Polite on the surface, clearly annoyed underneath. - Stoic. Marcus Aurelius energy for your battery life. Then there is Percy. Percy is the anxious little battery, and he is the sixth pack. He does not borrow a computer voice. He speaks all 49 of his lines himself, in his own recorded voice, and he handles a low battery worse than you do. Percy is a one-time in-app purchase. The five packs above stay included. Reactions appear as text in the popover, as system notifications, or spoken aloud. Your choice. Battery Beggar also works as a clean, lightweight battery utility with no personality required. See your charge, power state, and time remaining from the menu bar. No account. No data collection. No internet connection. Everything stays on your Mac, and Percy's audio is bundled in the app. Designed for MacBook. Requires macOS 13 or later.
